The Hairy Bikers' Cookbook is not so much a breath of fresh air as who left the bleeding door open . . .? (Guardian )

About the Author
Dave Myers was born and bred in Barrow-in-Furness and his versatile skills have taken him to some unusual places. He worked as a furnace man in a steelworks to finance his Master’s degree in fine arts before joining the BBC as a make-up artist, specializing in prosthetics. He has worked on many feature films and television series including Spooks. Si King is a big, blond-bearded biker from Newcastle, where he lives with his partner and three children. His infectious laugh and friendly charm have served him well for many years working as a first assistant director and locations manager for film and television, most recently for Harry Potter.

Awesome cookery book5
I love cooking and am the kind of person who will sit down and read a cookery book cover to cover. I'm always looking for new ideas and inspiration and this is the most exciting cookery book I've bought in years. For those that missed the TV series the book includes recipes from India, Argentina, Belgium and Morocco and they are so tasty! The instructions and timings are easy to follow and the results are amazing. So far my husband and I have made Ardennes Pork chops with caramelized apples, blind finches in gravy (does not involve cooking finches), vegetable biryani and royal gin fizz to name but a few. The book includes stories from Si and Dave's travels and is highly entertaining. A must for anyone who loves food.

Superb!5
I try to cook and look for new ideas in newspapers and books. Sadly, it seems to me that most writing on food isn't about food at all. It's a statement of a lifestyle that we are expected to aspire to, nothing more. The food they describe looks more at home in an art gallery than on a plate and is accompanied by such pretentious nonsense as to make my stomach turn. These lads clearly love their food and their sheer enthusiasm comes over brightly in this excellent book. I recommend it very highly!

Hairy Bikers5
A fantastic and informative book that has been well written, some brillent recipes from all over the country and the best of everything that has come out from the TV series.I have followed these two ever since they burst onto the screen with thier fine wit and would hope that the comedy double act will have the DVD of this fine series to complement the book.
I would recommend this book and any of the others that goes with these two great tv chefs for fine cooking without breaking the bank, with plenty to make you laugh.
